Catching The Worm

Ebuyer plans to sponsor a team of gamers to represent them at various LAN events and online competitions over the next 12 months. Any team who feels they can hold their own playing CS:Source are invited to sign up for the qualifiers which should take place in January.

Details are still quite sketchy, but there is a thread open at the new ebuyer forums for anyone wanting more information.

 "Not only will Ebuyer sponsor you for 12 months, paying for LAN attendance, travel etc etc and organise some CS servers for practice and play (hosted by those great guys at 4U-Servers.co.uk) but we'll be providing a high end gaming system for each of the winning team. "

 "The TEAM Ebuyer site will be online soon and you'll be able to sign up there, the tournament is being hosted by Enemydown.co.uk and we'll be using their expertise to ensure everything is fair and equal. "

 "Time-scale wise we'll be taking sign-ups through till December, starting the online qualifiers in January and taking the top teams to a dedicated LAN event in March."

"Just to clarify why we're using CS:Source, we wanted to be able to include as many gamers in this as possible and CS is the most played online team game at the moment."

 "We'll be launching a couple of CS:Source online servers shortly for you guys to practice on, these will also be the servers the winning team will be using and have admin rights to"

Its good to see retail companies willing to promote gaming in this way. We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
