The Asus Eee PC will be due on sale in the UK before Christmas and is expected to be a fast mover. In Taiwan they were officially released on the 17th of October and 200 Eee PCs were sold within 20 mins on one shopping channel alone.
 
Although an unusual name the 3 E's represent, Easy to learn, work, play, Excellent Internet experience and Excellent on-the-Go.

Asus have launched 2 models of this 7" compacted sized PC a 2GB version, the 700-B in black and a 4GB version the 701-W in white.
 
Both models have all the features you would want and need with the full sized laptop, including, WiFi 802.11b/g, a 3 hour battery life and 40 built in applications to help with the 3 E's. The 701-W even includes a webcam and mic.
 
Asus Eee PC 701-W Along with these features it also has an added benefit while on-the-Go, as it has a solid state memory. With a solid state disk, bumps and shocks are no longer issues. It is dependable giving you get unparalleled shock-protection and reliability. 
 
Now for the best part, an Asus Eee PC is expected to cost you less the £250.
 

All of the Eee PC's will be preloaded with Linux and will be XP compatible although Asus and Microsoft have announced a Windows based PC will be here very soon.

Scott Di Valerio, corporate vice president, OEM division at Microsoft has said "ASUS continues to pioneer breakthrough designs and capabilities in notebooks" and "With the new Eee PC they have done it again, and we are excited to work with ASUS to enable a Windows based software and services solution for this new category of mobile PCs."

Early next year we should also see the range expand to include these extra colours.
